Day 9 - Unplanned Day Off 📚
So today I’d made plans, why o why I bother I don’t know lol I really should of learnt by now!
So I don’t make plans because I go with the flow and follow energy and allow things to unfold in their natural way.
Today for some reason I planned ahead 🤷🏻♀️ booked accommodation down the coast and planned to ride there.
Well I am currently staying in accommodation up a mountain and with only Firefly‘s front breaks working and it’s chucking it down with rain this morning and I bottle it!! Knowing that riding on only front breaks in the dry was a challenge enough on the steep welsh roads.
There’s no bike shop in the town I’m next to, but after talking to the bunk house owner he kindly says he‘ll pop into a bike hire place on his way to work.
Another wonderful person having his positive impact in the world. 💚🥰
The outcome is they couldn’t be replaced as they didn’t stock them but as yet aren’t worn out, it would appear I’ve got them contaminated so I boil them in water and there back on and fingers crossed they do appear to be gripping. The test will be the hill in the morning!!!
So lessons learnt.....
* Well my spare kit was meant to have spare break pads, my error for not double checking!
* My multi tool lacks a pair of pilers that I needed, so now on the list to purchase.
* Hopefully I have successfully learnt to take out and replace my break pads 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I think the unplanned break did me a favour as my knees ached a lot this morning which is out of character for them.
So I used my downtime and I’ve finished reading my book!!!!!!! 📚
I can not recommend it enough, Mimi is an absolutely mind blowing women.
Her achievements through running are in comprehensible. 🥳
Just one to mention..
FEMALE WORLD RECORD JOGLE
Johh O’Groats to Lands End 840 miles in 12 days, 15 hours and 46 minutes!!!!!!!!
She shares her heart wrenching life story of overcoming anorexia and starting to run at the age of 36. Proper brought me to tears. 😪
Such an inspirational women. ⚡️🤩💫✨
I brought this book as the title ‘Beyond Impossible‘ really resonated with me and I’ll be taking her words into my training and the Rockies. 🚴🏼♀️🏔
More then that though she’s made me feel normal in my desire to really push myself, she‘s taken it to the ultimate extreme and it all started off by getting on a treadmill aged 36. Funny the doors that open when we try these new things, who knows where it’ll end. 🤩
Inspired and looking forward to start pushing myself in training now. 💪🏻🚴🏼♀️
