Hi I'm Nat :)

My friends say I'm crazy and quirky.

I think I'm positive, energetic and proactive. Kinda deep in my processing of the world although I now just live life for fun and interest, not taking it too seriously. My friends rock my world and I love meeting new people.

TD 2019 Day 1-3 This is crazy!!

Holy smokes!!!!!

So I knew this would be challenging beyond what I could imagine and it really is!!

A super quick blog as want to get some sleeps and get off early tomorrow.

So Iโ€™ve been riding 50 ish miles but my aim is 90. Tyres have been an issue but hoping this has been reaolved this evening. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Bear anxiety has made me avoid the wild camping but aware I just need to get braver and face this fear. Itโ€™s just as Iโ€™m riding solo and the world is scary in the dark, but I just have to face it! ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Day 1 ๐Ÿ’š 52.9 miles

Setting off was super exciting...

Only 15 miles in and the tyres troubles started!! A rude awakening of how scary it is to be fixing punctures in bear country, in a downpour on my tod until a couple of guys who where touring sat and made a coffee whilst I got sorted. Boy did I love them for that!!! The coffee was good to. ๐Ÿ˜โ˜•๏ธ

Picnic armed with bear spray! Itโ€™s so surreal to think theres bears around me! ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ณ

My fave part of the day, Iโ€™m scared of bridges and heights but loved riding this even if I couldnโ€™t look down! ๐Ÿคฃ

This area is stunning beautiful!!

Day 1 was adrenaline and anxiety filled, I always knew Iโ€™d need to settle into the ride in the first week. That evening I was desperate for company at the campsite, I just wanted to chat and have a giggle and I came upon Michael. So happy to chat about shared bear fears, life and silly chat, we rode the first bit together before I headed off on the hardcore koko pass and he went the touring way.

Day 2 ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š 55 miles, went off route 3 times and had to back track ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Koko started like this and got progressively worse for miles!

It was so hard, but I was just so grateful to be able to face the challenge and smash it. 2 and a half years ago I couldn't even lift my arms high enough to put on my dressing gown properly and this day I pushed a fully loaded firefly up a steep Rocky Mountain pass for miles. My miracle. ๐Ÿ˜

Day 3 ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š 51 miles

So I slept in a cabin on the summit, kinda scary on my own but also a wonderful experience. ๐Ÿ˜

A magical morning view. ๐Ÿ˜Š

After a scary Koko decent the ride was blissful ๐Ÿ˜Š

Good to know Iโ€™m on route ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

This made me giggle in Fernie ๐Ÿคฃ

Loving the moody sky

So I am hoping to pick up my mileage going forward now. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

I have always been motivated to complete the TD in whatever duration it needed but tonight I found out that 2 girls have picked me as there favourite female rider. I canโ€™t tell you how touched this made me feel I proper felt all emotional and defo want to smash this all the more now. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿคฉ

Not sure if this will work but doing short videos.....

That hopefully is the link to them!?

Sending positive energy to you all ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’ซโœจ
