We are off...... 🚍
Travelling begins 🥳🤩🌏🚍✈️
6 sleeps left till the ride begins 😴😴😴😴😴😴
1 UK sleep left 😴
Currently on bus on route to London....first challenge of the day overcome as the bus driver said my bike box was too big. Thankfully I’d already prevously phoned and checked and so managed to talk Firefly's way onto the bus. Kinda crucial we both make it else I’ll be having a very different experience then planned!
How do I feel!?
Super excited, tired, excited, amazingly calm under the circumstances, excited, happy, excited. Lots of excitement! 🤩💫✨
I can not believe how quick this has come round!
There are nearly 200 starters on the list now, the atmosphere I’m sure will be incredible.
It’s been raining a lot and firefly is in a box so last night there was a quick run to Tesco to purchase extra parcel wrap and I had a dizzy session putting her a waterproof coat on!! 💦☔️💦
So whats the plan for the race/ride.....
Well after having various different desires with what I want to achieve I have happily come to the place of how I general live life now of just to be present.
To take each moment as it comes and really experience it fully, the good, the bad and the ugly 🤣.
Some of most challenging and difficult times make for the best memories and stories so it’s all comes good in the long run. 😀
I’m am riding not racing, that said if I can achieve 30 days, which is classed as a race time that would be awesome, but if it takes me 6 weeks then the experience will still be fantastic and potentially better as I’d of had more time to connect with locals. We all know how I love to chat 🤭🤣.
So this TD journey started last November, when someone asked if I’d like to ride it with them, it quite quickly it became apparent i‘d be riding solo and I was happy (also 💩💩💩💩💩 my pants) to continue with the adventure alone. I say alone, I’m never alone, my friends all join me on my adventure virtually and become very much apart of the experience. 👫👬👭👫👭👬
I truly believe the Tour Divide found me and as bonkers as this may sound, from the very start I believed I was meant to ride it. That it’s part of my life path, so it will be interesting to see what doors open as a result. 🙃
To get to this point I have already changed massively and grown so much.
A big part of taking on this challenge is to celebrate life and having the mental and physical health to be able to take this challenge on.
I also want grow my comfort zone much bigger and become braver as I know the more I do this the more I can fully engage in life and embrace the vast opportunities that it offers.
I will be blogging this journey, for myself and anyone who wants to join me.
Let go have an awesome adventure. 🤩💪🏻🌏
